Students
Hey Students,
Welcome to health in the Fall 2009 semester! The majority of you are just about to embark upon one of the most important but also a fun and memorable time of your school age life, high school. It is what you make of it so make the best of it! Graduation will be here before you know it. This is a one semester course that is required for graduation from Natomas Unified School District.
This semester we will be focusing on prevention and promoting a healthy lifestyle so you can live the healthiest life possible. In order to enhance your quality of life, good decision making skills must come into play so we will be practicing those skills throughout the semester.
This course has been designed to help you be successful. Your daily attendance and participation is vital to your success! You will always know in advance when something is due and you will be given feedback on your work fairly quickly. Grades will be posted periodically throughout the semester so you can monitor your own progress. Please do not ever hesitate to come and talk to me about your progress in class. However, the best time to do this is before school, during lunch, or after school.
I encourage you to take a proactive role in your high school education. Check your grades periodically on powerschool, visit your counselor, get involved, make some new friends, and get to know the NHS staff. Also, keep in mind that there is no summer school during summer 2010 so it is imperative that you are successful the first time around!
I’m looking forward to working with you,
Ms. Wabinga
