Hello Parents/Guardians,
Your student has the opportunity to complete some extra credit assignments over the Thanksgiving break. The movie assignments focus on the topics we just covered and are currently covering in class. These assignments are due on Tuesday, Dec 1st and may not be used with a late work pass. Students have the option of watching a movie, writing, or both. The maximum amount of points a student can earn is 150 points. Check it out below:
Students need to watch the movie and thoroughly answer all questions on their own paper in complete sentences.

This week we begin the Family Life Unit! It is the last unit of the semester which means there is only 4 more weeks to go until the end of the semester! Finals week begins on Monday, December 14th! Fall semester ends on Friday, Dec 18th. Be on the look out for your student’s final progress report.
This is another BUSY week in Health class! For starters, chapter 23 homework is due on Tuesday. On Thursday, Bindercheck # 5 is taking place and the tobacco advertisement project is due (100 pts)! The drug classification matrix must also be complete and in your binder BEFORE your binder gets graded. Then, be ready for the substance abuse exam by preparing your 3×5 notecard!
Hey Parents,
Your student was given a letter to inform you on the upcoming comprehensive sexual health unit. The topics of the unit include:
The primary content for this unit is provided in a Health textbook (Glencoe’s Human Sexuality) approved by the State of California and Natomas Unified School District. You are welcome to preview the book in the Natomas High School library. CA law (SB 71) states that all students participate in Comprehensive Sexual Health education unless a parent/guardian voluntarily removes their student from the instruction.
He/She will be given alternative assignments to be completed in the library or another classroom. A parent or guardian of a pupil has the right to request in writing that his/her student not receive the comprehensive sexual health education and STI/HIV/AIDS prevention education. If you do not want your student to participate in comprehensive sexual health education through health class, you MUST notify your student’s health teacher. You can sign and return the letter, email or call me if you do not want your student to participate.
If I don’t hear from you, I will assume your student has your permission to participate in the Family Life unit (comprehensive sexual health education).
